Monday - Divine Leader - Deuteronomy 42:11-12
God came to be a Leader of the people He had chosen to be His own. He lead them through the wilderness, away from the chains of oppression and slavery that held them in captivity for so long. He is that same type of Leader today, desiring to lead us out of the sins that so easily enslave us to that which brings on death to our souls. God leads us by His Spirit to the salvation and freedom brought through Jesus Christ our Lord. "It would have been enough but He leads us to so much more.
Tuesday - Divine Call - Genesis 12:1; Exodus 3:10
Yahweh (God) called out to Abram to leave behind all that was unnecessary and follow Him to a land that Abram had never seen but would receive as a gift. God also called Moses, in his time, to go back to Egypt to bring the people of Israel out of that land. These were both divine callings to a task that was a part of the master plan of God's salvation to fulfill the promise that He made with Abram (Abraham) the He would be their God and they would be His people. Though the reactions of these two were different, when they came into compliance with that plan, salvation came to the people and they trusted and followed God.
Wednesday - Divine Messenger - Psalm 77:20
God sent those who spoke on His behalf not only to Pharaoh or the leaders in Egypt, but also to speak to the children of Israel so that they would believe and understand that God had heard their cries and was doing the work that needed to be done to bring about the establishment once again of the people of God. Those word, "Let My people go!" were the command of the One and Only God and needed to be obeyed in order to hold back the judgment of God for disobedience. Moses and Aaron were the beginning of a line of messengers that were sent to us by God. The prophets, the disciples, the inspired writers of His Scriptures, preachers and teachers down through the ages have been used by God to bring us the message that will guide us safely to that Promised Land.
Thursday - Divine Protection - Exodus 14:20
In this passage we see that when Israel was trapped between the Sea and the armies of Pharaoh that God gave a wall of protection to His people. A wall of darkness to the Egyptians but a wall of light to Israel. There are times when He does the same for us today. He grants to us the light of understanding His love and provision, His peace and grace, while those who would fight against us see only the darkness of their own hearts and lives and are lost in that darkness. He has given to us the Light of Life, Jesus Christ who directs us from blessing to blessing along life's road.
Friday - Divine Protector - Exodus 23:27; John 10
God sends out before the Israelites the Protector of His people who cause all enemies to turn and run. No one, nothing can stand against the force of God that goes before us as our Protector. His Spirit in these days will guide us and protect us from the forces of evil, if we but follow in His steps. As the Good Shepherd leads His sheep, the Lord stand between us and the evil that would want to attack, and He protects us with His very life.
Saturday - Jehovah Chosen - Joshua 24:15
In view of all the benefits that are given to us by Yahweh, Jehovah; Joshua leads us to the understanding that it would have been enough for God to grant only one or two blessings but He has chosen to lavish His love on us in numberless blessings, so we desire to serve Him and Him alone. For "He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the sheep of His hand, yes the sheep of His hand." We choose to serve the Lord!
